The Three Forks community is proud of its excellent public school system. An average of 560 students attends Three Forks Public Schools. The caring, dedicated staff helps each student and partners with parents to provide their children with the best possible education. Parents are encouraged to be involved with the education of their children by visiting classrooms, volunteering their help, and offering ideas for improvements.
The school system prides itself on having a small-town atmosphere with a varied and challenging curriculum. High academic standards are maintained and a number of extracurricular activities are offered. Elementary students can take part in the Missoula Children's Theatre, Bridging the Gap After-School Program, After School Spanish, and Little Wolves Basketball. Middle school students can participate in school plays, basketball, football, track, and volleyball. For high school students there are football, volleyball, basketball, track, golf, school plays, Business Professionals of America (BPA), Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), and Close-Up Trip to Washington, D.C.
Three Forks Elementary School on 212 East Neal has approximately 300 students, kindergarten through grade 6. Three Forks 7-8 on 210 East Nealhas approximately 90 students in grades 7 through 8. Three Forks High School on 210 East Neal has approximately 150 students. The Three Forks Community Library on 607 South Main has 17,000 books, audio and video materials, and serial subscriptions. Montana State University-Bozeman is about 49 miles from Three Forks.
